1About this policy

Storeboard Search is an online business directory and community where businesses and people create profiles, publish posts, photos, videos, deals and reviews, and connect with each other. Storeboard Search is operated by Storeboard LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

This policy applies to StoreboardSearch.com and the related websites, emails and services we operate (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to this policy and to our Terms and Conditions.

2Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information — your name, email address, password, username and, if you choose, a phone number.
  • Business profile information — business name, address, phone, website, hours, categories, description, logo, photos, videos and social media links.
  • Content you post — posts, comments, reviews, deals, events, photos, videos, audio and messages you send to other members.
  • Communications with us — messages you send through our contact form, email, phone or text, and quote or service requests.
  • Purchase information — when you buy a premium package or subscription, our payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal) collect your payment details. We receive a confirmation and limited details (for example, the last four digits of a card), but we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Approximate location — we estimate your city or region from your IP address so we can show nearby businesses and local news. We do not collect your precise GPS location unless you choose to share it.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies, analytics & ads.

Information from other sources

  • Public business information — some business listings are created from publicly available sources and business data providers. Business owners can claim, update or ask us to remove these listings.
  • Social sign-in — if you sign in with Facebook or another service, we receive the basic profile information you allow that service to share, such as your name and email address.
  • Other members — for example, when someone reviews your business, tags you or sends you a message.

3What is public

Storeboard Search is a public directory. Your profile, business information, posts, photos, videos, deals and reviews are visible to anyone who visits the site, can be shared, and may be indexed by search engines such as Google and Bing.

Please don't post anything you want to keep private. Your password, payment details and private messages are never made public.

4How we use information

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Services, including your account and profile.
  • Show you relevant local businesses, news and content based on your location and interests.
  • Process purchases and subscriptions, and send receipts and account notices.
  • Respond to your questions and support requests.
  • Send updates, tips and offers by email or text — only where allowed, and you can opt out at any time.
  • Measure how the Services are used so we can fix problems and improve them.
  • Keep the Services safe — detect and prevent spam, fraud, abuse and violations of our Posting Guidelines and Terms.
  • Show advertising, as described in Cookies, analytics & ads.
  • Comply with the law and protect the rights, property and safety of our members, the public and us.

5How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described below.
  • Service providers who help us run the Services — for example, web hosting and content delivery, email delivery, payment processing, security and spam prevention, analytics and customer support. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
  • Advertising partners — such as Google, which may collect information through cookies to show and measure ads (see section 6).
  • Other members and the public — the information you choose to publish, and messages you send to the people you send them to.
  • Legal and safety reasons — when we believe in good faith it is required by law, legal process or a government request, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of anyone, or to enforce our policies.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
  • With your consent — or at your direction.

We may also share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify you.

6Cookies, analytics & advertising

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them, along with similar technologies, to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and location, understand how the site is used, and show advertising.

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep the site secure. The site will not work properly without them.
  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Advertising — the Services are supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
  • Security — we use Google reCAPTCHA on some forms to block spam and bots. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Your choices

  • Opt out of personalized ads from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from many other ad companies at aboutads.info or youradchoices.com.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features (like signing in) may not work.

7Text messages (SMS)

If you agree to receive text messages from Storeboard LLC, we use your mobile number to send the messages you signed up for, such as account notices, replies to your inquiries and service updates. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.

  • Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help.
  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of the sharing described in this policy and will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver the messages for us.

8Your rights & choices

  • Update your information — edit your profile and account details at any time when signed in.
  • Email preferences — use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or change your notification settings. We may still send you important account and transaction messages.
  • Delete your account — contact us and we will delete your account, usually within one business day. Your profile and media are then removed from the site.
  • Access, correction and deletion — you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Depending on where you live (for example, California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to opt out of targeted advertising, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9How long we keep data

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. After that, we keep it only as long as needed to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements. Deleted content may remain in backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.

10Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secured networks and restricted access to personal data for a limited number of staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

11Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12International users

Storeboard LLC is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Services, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will provide additional notice, such as on the site or by email. Your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
